Building often utilises materials that come from nature and we have long worked to be environmentally friendly, both in the buildings we create and the impact of our vehicles and workforce. We recognise that ecological awareness is essential for future generations and have made it part of our way of working life.
The government’s Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) closely reflects the personal and corporate aspirations of Epps Construction. The code sets new standards for energy efficiency and sustainability to limit the environmental impact ofhousing. Adopting its approach, Epps now delivers ecologically built homes that attain up to CSH level four and is working to reach levels five and six.
The company also works to the highest standards of the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM). Our ISO 14001 certification for environmental management standards reflects the principle of our commitment. Our unique ecological approach to modern building methods is a practical demonstration of our beliefs in action.
Epps is determined to reinforce its ‘green’ credentials in every situation and opportunity. As a long-established company, we have seen many changes and have been quick to respond to the drive towards sustainability. We have been running as many vehicles in our fleet as possible on LPG since the turn of the century, our joinery partners at CK Joinery use sustainable materials and in our head office we use solar power to help reduce our carbon footprint.
